Warehouse Group Lead:

Summary:

Here"s a list of duties that our Warehouse Group Leader performs on a typical day:
* Assists in maintaining a personnel structure and staffing level to accomplish the warehouse and receiving mission in an effective and efficient manner. Interviews and recommends applicants for hire as warehouse and receiving associates.
* Plans and coordinates work of hourly staff members of Thomaston and Torrington locations. Trains and motivates, monitors, and evaluates performance of warehouse and receiving associates; ensures their ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials to and from storage configurations; counsels, records, and disciplines as necessary.
* Coordinates with the planning and production team to stage and make available inventory needed for production.
* Assists in maintaining an equipment structure and level to accomplish the warehouse and receiving mission in a safe, effective manner. Provides appropriate equipment and racking to ensure the safe transport and storage of all materials. Research material handling equipment to ensure procurement of the most suitable equipment in terms of performance, safety, reliability and cost.
* Monitors the unloading of all materials into the receiving department; ensures materials are staged for counting and inspection; ensures received materials are accurate in SAP. Resolves discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receipts. Oversees the movement of material from receiving to the warehouse in an efficient, effective and safe manner.
* Monitors and measures receiving and warehouse performance for accuracy of inventory movements. Oversees cycle count program in the stockroom and warehouse floor locations. Ensures cycle counts are performed on schedule and recommends/executes actions to address root cause of inventory discrepancies.
* Supports the manager in the day to day of team of shippers in Thomaston and Torrington
* Reviews freight activity / invoices for discrepancies (work cycles) identified by 3rd party freight billing company.
* Responsible for obtaining freight estimates and working with customers / suppliers occasionally on freight issues
* Develops and recommends annual budget requirements for the warehouse and receiving department.
* Anticipates and requests funding for future personnel requirements. Anticipates and requests funding for future material handling equipment.

Job Requirements

Qualified Candidates must have:
* Min of 5 years of experience in warehousing, receiving, inventory control or materials management in a manufacturing environment, with 2 years of supervisory experience.
* Must be detail oriented, and organized
* Must have excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
* Must have strong interpersonal skills
* 1-2 years" experience working with SAP
* Must be proficient using Microsoft Excel and Word
* Analytical and problem-solving skills are essential
* Knowledge of bar code technology and electronic data interchange.
* Experience with lean methodologies and tools

Preferred Candidates will have:
* Ability to work independently and be proactive.
* Ability to analyze, interpret and report data.
* Ability to prioritize work is essential.
* Good oral and written communication skills

Physical Demands (Reasonable accommodations provided):
