What You'll Do

As a skilled and detail-oriented Architectural CAD Drafter you'll play a crucial role in our project development process. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for turning creative design concepts into accurate, precise, and comprehensive CAD drawings that will guide our projects to successful completion. The Architectural Store Designer is responsible for the Site Design, Development and Merchandising layout for our retail store locations. This includes new stores, relocations, store remodels, and special projects. This role, in partnership with the Real Estate, Operations, Merchandise and Construction groups, will take each project from initial site identification through design development, and project handoff to Construction Manager, supporting the project through the development cycle until opening or completion.

Responsibilities

  • Under direction of the Architectural and Pre-Construction Manager, collaborate with the design team to transform conceptual sketches and ideas into detailed CAD drawings.
  • Create architectural drawings, floor plans, merchandise plans, elevations, sections, and construction details using AutoCAD and other relevant software.
  • Complete test fits and feasibility studies for potential new stores.
  • Work with merchandising team to update existing store drawings as needed.
  • Ensure all drawings meet industry standards and regulations, as well as adhere to our company's quality standards.
  • Review and revise drawings to address feedback and changes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with architects, designers, and other team members to ensure the successful execution of projects.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest software and industry trends to maintain proficiency in CAD drafting.
  • Assist in producing design presentations, renderings, and other visual materials when required.
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree (in Architecture or Interior Design preferred) or a related field (experience would be considered in lieu of the college degree).
  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience as an Architectural CAD drafter, with a strong background in retail design and development.
  • Experience or knowledge of retail store layout & design, construction, and schedules.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant drafting and imagery software
  • Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate and precise drawings.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • A willingness for solving problems through design and a passion for retail.
  • Collaborative approach with a willingness to partner with cross functional teams.
  • Work Location: Hybrid. You will spend up to 3 days per week on average at our Alameda, CA Home Office.

CA Pay Range is $75,000 to $90,000 annually
