Kalahari Manufacturing is a division of Kalahari Resorts Conventions which acts as our theming company. The "Kalahari Theme Shop" - located next to our corporate headquarters in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin - is key to our success and what helps our brand stand out. Our 20,000 square foot complex houses a plethora of modern technology pieces. The fully commercial metal shop has all the resources needed for our artists to create all our scenic needs. Also included is a full carpentry shop, 3-D modeling computer workstations, foam cutting and carving station featuring laser engraving capabilities, full paint shop, modern welding machinery, full vinyl fabrication equipment and UL certified sign shop.
We are inviting you to apply for Metal Fabricator / Welder position. Detail-oriented, creatively-inspired, technically-proficient and focused, a successful Metal Fabricator / Welder is capable of following complex instructions. Whether you're an experienced welder or looking to get your foot in the door, your artistic ability and passion for excellence will make you a valuable asset in our creative workshop.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Operate fabrication equipment such as shears, brakes, saws, and punches.
- Perform welding tasks such as TIG MIG.
- Ability to understand oral and written instructions of a technical nature.
- Collaborate with other team members to solve fabrication challenges as well as meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of industry safety practices
Nice to have:- Proven experience as a metal fabricator/welder with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Proficient in welding all types of metals using different welding techniques.
- Artistic ability is a plus.
- Ability to setup fabrication equipment and tools prior.
- Use shaping equipment to form metal as needed.
Experience:- Technical certification in welding/fabrication/metal working or equivalent experience.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawing, blueprints and schematics.
