Float Required Across Metro Facilities No Local Travelers Within 50 Miles Avg Daily Census: 14 Rooms: 16 Beds: 16 Patient Age Group: Adults, Geriatrics Ratios - 1:2 Every Other Weekend Coverage Documentation System: Epic Required Patient Diagnoses: Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair, Carotid endarterectomy, Distal Bypass, Sepsis, Trauma, Bowel Perforation, Arterial Thrombosis, Pulmonary embolism , Free flap for oral/facial/pharyngeal reconstruction Special Procedures/Unit Details: Level 1 Trauma facility, dedicated trauma ICU unit with TNCC or TCAR certification, NIH stroke certification, Resident physician in unit coverage 24/7 Special Equipment: Nx-Stage- CRRT, Belmont rapid infuser, Hot line fluid warmer, Artic Sun- for targeted temperature management, EKOS Certification Required - ACLS, BLS, NIH Work Settings: Surgical Intensive Care Unit Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response: Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias Endocrine/Metabolic: IV insulin protocols IV therapy: Accessing Ports, Arterial line management, Blood Product Administration, Central line care/management, PICC line management, Starting IVs MEDICATIONS: Continuous IV sedation, Procedural Sedation Administration, Titrate Cardiac drips, Titrate Vasoactive drips Neurological: CVA/Acute Stroke management Respiratory/Thoracic: Care of Ventilated Patient, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Interpretation of ABGs, Suctioning (ETT, NT) Professional Topics and Skills: Infection Prevention, Isolation Precautions/ Use of PPE, Phlebotomy, Surgical Wounds with drains/Wound Vac Free Parking Navy Scrubs
