HHMI's Investment team manages an endowment with net assets of approximately $25 billion, and invests globally through long-term partnerships with world-class external investment managers. HHMI's endowment comprises a diverse portfolio, including investments in public equity funds, growth equity and buyout funds, venture capital funds, hedge funds, real assets and direct co-investments.

Summary:

You will be part of a collegial 19-person Investment team and gain valuable experience in endowment management. The investment staff consists of a Public Markets team and Private Markets team. The Investment Analyst will work closely with both teams in support of the management of the Institute's endowment. This work will include assisting in the formulation of investment strategy and asset class analyses. This person may also participate in the evaluation of investment opportunities across all major markets including global public markets, private equity, and real assets. The Investment Analyst role is a two-year position with the option to extend for a third year. High performers may be directly promoted to Associate following the Analyst program.

This role is intended for a Spring 2025 college graduate. The start date for this position is July 2025.

In this role, you will support investment decision making in:
  • Assist in the execution of the research agenda, investment strategy, and portfolio construction.
  • Participate in the diligence of prospective opportunities and oversight of existing managers.
  • Research a variety of markets and investment strategies.
  • Document notes and relevant conclusions from meetings and analyses.
  • Draft investment proposals.
  • Participate in periodic on-site manager evaluations including oversight of operational evaluations. Ensure appropriate documentation of manager evaluations is recorded.
  • Follow investment trends and opportunities, communicating proactively with colleagues and building and maintaining a network within the investment community.

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year institution
  • 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
  • Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely.

  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of information.
  • Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously within timeframes.

Compensation Range
$80,465.60 (minimum) - $100,582.00 (midpoint) - $130,756.60 (maximum)

Pay Type:
Annual

HHMI's salary structure is developed based on relevant job market data. HHMI considers a candidate's education, previous experiences, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity when making job offers. Typically, a new hire for this position in this location is compensated between the minimum and the midpoint of the salary range.
