One Opening on 3rd Shift,

Purpose of Position:

* Perform all material handling duties in the department including moving all materials, ordering materials, relieving operators, disposal of trash, and tracking production.

Major Responsibilities/Ongoing Tasks:

* Perform all operator functions in a relief capacity (ref. Stripette Operator, CJD00151). This can take as long as 3 hours 40 minutes per shift. Must also relieve operators as needed other than breaks.

* Be knowledgeable in PeopleSoft, label making, and defect reporting programs on the computer.

* Must be able to generate labels to be used in production.

* Must be able to write up a reject in DMR.

* Be able to scan skids of finished and WIP product and make returns to the warehouse.

* Manually input and verify production numbers into PeopleSoft as required.

* Retrieve material pick plans and order sufficient quantities of packaging and WIP items from the warehouse to satisfy production requirements stated on pick plans and notify supervisor when insufficient quantities occur.

* Put materials away in their proper storage locations.

* Move materials using pallet jacks, tote dollies and push cart.

* Supply operators with any items needed throughout the shift (practice FIFO).

* Wrap all skids (WIP, production, totes) with film to ensure skid integrity.

* Verify correct cartons and labels to be used each day.

* Verify any production run changes to ensure proper packaging is made in advance.

* Fill out container movement form.

* At the beginning and end of the shift, count the number of completed cartons per skid of each line to tally production totals.

* Empty trash cans throughout the department, collect and dispose of all corrugated, empty dumpsters into outside trash compactor. Collect and dispose of all scrap for the shift. Give scrap count information to supervisor.

* Assist operators with counts and teardowns, refill water bottles used for leak testing, retrieves empty pallets from loading dock and bring to production areas.

* Communicate with counterparts on other shifts as well as supervisor and team leader to ensure correct production counts and preparations for changeovers.

* Communicate with department planner to ensure sufficient quantities exist for upcoming or current production runs.

* Report to supervisor any defective materials or unsafe acts or conditions that occur.

* Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
