DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Prepare operational schedules and welding activities for the fabrication team to complete.
- Verify specifications and assist with projects while also assigning duties across the team.
- Ensures quality and manufacturing metrics are established (yield & efficiencies) and productivity targets are met.
- Ensures company policies, quality procedures and good manufacturing practices are understood and followed by employees.
- Always maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating employees and enforcing safety policies.
- Oversee installations of various components manufactured within fabrication at various plant locations.
- This role will collaborate with local plant leadership and local maintenance teams to ensure minimal disruption to plant operations.
- Ensures that all production paperwork is completed on a timely basis.
- 50% travel to plants
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS- In-depth understanding and working knowledge of welding, including MIG Stick and TIG.
- Ability to read and understand production drawings, good knowledge of measuring tools and product tolerances.
- Ability to inspect and approve work orders for conformance to specifications and blueprints and adjust accordingly to correct errors.
- Strong organizational skills, including planning, scheduling, prioritizing and record-keeping.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills at all levels.
- Organized and able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience managing installation, builds, and deconstruction.
- Background or understanding of general fabrication equipment including: shears, rolls, press brakes, CNC plasmas and machine shop equipment.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: (To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required).
- Education:
- Associate degree in a related field preferred but not required.
- Experience:
- 5-7 years of Supervisory/Managerial experience in Fabrication.
- Strong technical background that includes knowledge of sheet metal fabricating processes and equipment.
- Working in a manufacturing setting is required, food manufacturing preferred.
