Description
Excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual with a solid background in IT/Computers. The IT Technician will install/maintain computer systems and networks and also train users of the systems to make efficient use of the IT infrastructure. A successful IT Technician must have a thorough knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks and operating systems. Working with application solution providers to help drive issue resolution.
Universal Metro Asian Services is a Not-For-Profit organization that aims to serve immigrant populations of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, the Middle East, Latin America and Europe.
UMAS is a small, family run organization. The perceptive employee would need to have experience with that or have experience wearing multiple hats. In addition, perceptive employee should be able to work autonomously, be a self-starter, and have initiative and lots of follow through.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Set up hardware and software systems as well as necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.)
- Maintain, configure & repair equipment (Hardware, Software, routers, printers etc.)
- Provide training and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment
- Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
- Offering technical support on-site, remotely or via phone or email
- Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
- Catalog/record issues identified in the IT ticketing system
- Data entry and verification as required
Requirements
Basic QualificationsQualifications include: - Education: Associate, Bachelor, or Equivalent in a related field
- Experience: 1-2 years in IT related experience
- Thorough knowledge of computer systems and IT components
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Good knowledge of PBX / VoIP-based phone systems, Access Control, Security, Surveillance systems, etc.
- Advanced expertise in Web Bases application platform's common features and work methodology. (eg. Online Training portal, Access Control System, VoIP Portal etc).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Products (Outlook, SharePoint OneDrive, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
- Proficient in Adobe CC (Adobe Reader, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Creative Cloud basic feature)
- Excellent communication skills, including oral, written and presentation
- Self-motivated, creative, flexible and results-driven
- Ability to be a productive team member/player
Additional qualifications include: - Being fluent in Hindi/Urdu or Gujarati is preferred
- Experience with Electronic Visit Verification (EVV)
- Familiarity with IT support/ticket system, Web-based application
