**Duties**

** Summary**

As a TransportationOperations Specialist, you will serve in the Program Support Center and work under the general guidance of Zonal Operations and the supervision of the Program Support Supervisor.

**Location of position:** FAS - Office of Fleet Management - Program Support Center located in Kansas City, MO.

We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.

**Responsibilities**

***The majority of the duties for this position will require the candidate to physically report to the Kansas City office on a daily basis.**

+ Provides administrative assistance and guidance for fleet management which involves program and financial activities and operations.

+ Identifies administrative needs and deficiencies and recommends changes and/or improvements to the supervisor.

+ Performs additional situation-specific research to identify daily operational problems related to the Fleet program and administrative operations to make assessments and/or ways to resolve.

+ Prepares and/or reviews a variety of administrative related documents (reports, records, statistical data, etc.). This can include gathering and organizing data, preparing reports, identifying and extracting information and reconciling information and data.

+ Other duties as assigned. **Travel Required**

The GS-09 salary range starts at $53,977.00 per year. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.

To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is administrative, technical, financial and analytical experience. This experience must have included records and database management, analysis of operations to evaluate requirements and guidelines, resolve problems of a procedural or factual nature, and make determinations.

OR

Completion of a masters or equivalent level degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.B. or JD. The major study must be in one of the following: accounting, business administration, commerce, economics, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position.

OR

A combination of graduate level education and appropriate experience that together meet the qualification requirements of this position.

** How You Will Be Evaluated**

+ Knowledge of the fleet management organization and an in-depth knowledge of applicable administrative functions. Knowledge of administrative regulations, policies, procedures and processes involved to perform independent work involving a variety of administrative assignments that require knowledge of administrative methods and techniques.

+ Knowledge of fleet management program administrative regulations to review and resolve problems of a procedural or factual nature as related to a variety of administrative operations and activities.

+ Skill and ability in communications including written, oral, listening and some formal and informal meetings, etc. This ability will be used in daily work and interaction to discuss work assignments and problems and make recommendations relating to assigned program and administrative areas.

+ Knowledge of FMS and other required automated data systems (Internet, word, excel, etc.) to perform a variety of work assignments; data input, URSA updates, review, research and data analysis and evaluation of the program and administrative related information, reports, claims, records, listings, etc.

+ Ability and skill to recognize and handle various program and administrative related problems, situations and issues, answer questions and inquiries and exercise judgment in selection or adaptation of guidance available.

+ Ability and skill to make recommendations or suggestions on improvements or changes relating to the program and administrative function's work procedures, processes and methods.

+ Knowledge of fleet management regulations, missions, goals and objectives. Additional assessments may be used, and, if so, you will be provided with further instructions.
