Background: GS Precision is a world class manufacturer focused on critical hardware for commercial aircraft, defense systems and spacecraft. We specialize in machined metallic components in our state of the art facilities in Vermont, New Hampshire and Mexico. The engineering Internship role is an opportunity for engineering students to get hands on manufacturing experience, work with and learn from some of the best manufacturing engineers in the business and have an impact on the business. Currently looking for Interns for Fall 2024.

Requirements

Job Objective: Entry level engineering role to provide hands on and technical support to the engineering and operations teams. The successful candidate will have an understanding of manufacturing processes, engineering drawing standards and engineering fundamentals. Knowledge of CNC programming or 3d modeling is a strong advantage but not required.

Responsibilities:

Hands on manufacturing of aerospace components to include operation of CNC equipment, inspection of manufactured components, advanced assembly and similar tasks as needed.

Programming of CNC equipment for aerospace parts, tooling and fixtures as needed. Prior experience with programming is not required.

Development and improvement of manufacturing processes as needed.

Relationships and Roles:

Receives daily work direction from the manufacturing engineering manager, process engineering manager or operations leaders.

Works closely with manufacturing engineers, process engineers, quality engineers and operations personnel to execute daily tasks and develop skills.

Job Specifications:

At least one year of completed course work in an engineering major from an ABET accredited university.

Willingness and ability to perform hands on manufacturing task involving manual labor. Ability and willingness to be on your feet, active and safe for 8 or more hours a day.

Knowledge of engineering drafting, drawing and modeling, including application of GD&T.

Analytical skills, problem solving, conflict resolution.

CAD/CAM software, MS Office.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Attention to detail, strong follow up skills.

Sense of urgency, initiative.
