$17.20/hr

The Janitor independently cleans restrooms, offices, break rooms, locker rooms, kitchenettes/pantries, showers, stairwells, corridors, elevators/escalators, and other work areas. Duties involve a combination of the following: sweeping and mopping floors; removing trash and other materials for recycling; dusting furniture or fixtures; polishing metal fixtures or trimmings; replenishing restroom supplies.

  • Cleaning offices, corridors, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, elevators, escalators, break room, library, kitchenette, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
  • Sweeping, floors using brooms, and mops.
  • Cleaning rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies using a vacuum cleaner.
  • Dusting furniture and equipment.
  • Polishing metalwork such as fixtures and fittings.
  • Washing walls, ceiling, and woodwork.
  • Washing door panels and sills.
  • Emptying wastebaskets.
  • Transporting trash to disposal area and recycling to designated areas.
  • Replenishing restroom supplies.
  • Responsible for producing quality work.
  • Responsible for appropriate conduct and demeanor as dictated by Didlake policy.
  • Responsible for following safety standards and guidelines in the proper use of the equipment and other activities.
  • Completes and maintains all Didlake required training.

Requirements

Education:

  • High School diploma/GED or 6 months previous custodial work experience.


Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to carry out simple but detailed instructions.
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers.
  • Must possess a positive team member attitude.
  • Ability to interact effectively with employees with disabilities.
  • Ability to work in environments with narrow, moving, and/or slippery surfaces.
