Coax and Fiber technicians will splice fiber optic cables in the air, underground, and in commercial buildings. Primary Responsibilities. Must be able to pull cable through commercial buildings. Set up splice locations, termination points and general fiber optic construction. Fuse fiber optic cables in a production environment for small to large projects. Test and troubleshoot fiber optic networks for acceptance testing, trouble identification and fiber characterization. Use of headend test equipment.
