Sanitation Supervisor

For our future state-of-the art 600+ person Lubbock, TX cheese and whey manufacturing facility, Leprino is seeking a Sanitation Supervisor. We take pride in our vision to be the "world's best", it's why we work harder, invest more, and continually innovate.

Leprino Foods broke ground on the $1 Billion facility in the summer of 2022. The plant will be operation in 2024 with Phase 1 and will become fully operational by 2026 with Phase 2. You will play a crucial role in creating a healthy work environment for our employees, thereby fostering positive working relationships and teamwork.

Job Duties

  • Educates plant personnel on, and ensures plant compliance with Sanitation Systems, including recordkeeping, laboratory execution and product grading, Sanitation Alert effectiveness, hold and release protocols and COA compliance.
  • Oversees sanitation program effectiveness to ensure food safety standards are met for the facility HACCP Food Safety systems, SQF, etc.
  • Communicate directly with plant personnel to follow up on customer issues (complaints, audit responses, customer queries, etc.)
  • Implement and maintain 5S standards and critical safety rules.
  • Drive problem solving with respect to plant sanitation, environmental, and audit related issues.
  • Operates as a local subject matter expert in applicable sanitation, audits, and environmental policies, programs and systems.
  • Assists in driving core people development processes (hiring and promoting for success, technical/functional training, leadership development, and performance management) within Sanitation
  • Builds and fosters strong working relationships, collaboration within their team & across the plant - and a positive work environment.
  • Work as a business partner with Production by actively helping them identify and solve quality opportunities and providing assistance with implementing systems to prevent recurrence.
  • Help to lead the required training process - Ensures team employees have completed all required training.
  • Assist in developing communication strategy for employee questions and concerns.
  • Leads the daily Sanitation floor operations to ensure production standards and quality parameters are set.
  • Ensures the plant level preparedness for customer and regulator inspections. Coordinates all customer and regulator audits and follow-up activities including Corrective and Preventative Actions.
  • Ensures plant compliance with pest control and sanitation systems, including recordkeeping, SSOP s, Master Sanitation Schedules, CIP effectiveness, and chemical safety.
  • Drives & executes standards for safety involvement and accountability in the department and leads by example.

You Have At Least (minimum qualifications)

  • College Degree in Food Science, Dairy Technology, or other related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in food manufacturing environment, additional education may substitute experience where applicable
  • 1+ year of experience leading, mentoring, and/or delegating work to others

We Hope You Also Have (preferred qualifications)

  • Technical background in food technology, food science, dairy science, microbiology, or chemistry
  • Dairy/Cheese manufacturing experience
  • Previous supervisory experience in manufacturing environment
  • Proficient computer knowledge, with familiarity or ability to learn SAP or other manufacturing computer systems
  • Knowledge of and passion for quality methods and techniques, including HACCP concept for food safety, quality assurance standards, food laboratory testing methods and operations, and statistical process control techniques
