JOB SUMMARY

The dispatcher plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of GCC projects by efficiently coordinating the movement of equipment, materials, and personnel. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITITES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Coordinate pre-dispatch activities with Foremen and Superintendents.
  • Coordinate job locations and efficiently dispatch field personnel.
  • Manage a high volume of incoming and outgoing calls.
  • Schedule field/office work to meet the needs of the site progress.
  • Utilize tech skills to optimize dispatching processes and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure accurate communication with foremen and superintendents regarding staffing, equipment, issues and small tool needs.
  • Review daily/weekly work reports.
  • Must have the following abilities:
  • Communication Skills: Ability to listen and speak to people by radio and phone, often in some state of distress. Your ability to listen, speak plainly and communicate effectively will be necessary.
  • Ability to Multitask: Dispatchers often are moving a lot of people and equipment around at the same time, tracking their movements and keeping tabs on what is needed is essential.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to prioritize the most important situations, and think quickly on your feet.
  • Coordinate administrative new-hire process with field workers.
  • Innovate new ideas and research best practices for the Dispatch Department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SOFTWARE USE

Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), HCSS, Spectrum


QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, AND CERTIFICATIONS

Minimum 3 years experience in fast paced, highly detailed dispatching. Ability to multi task under stress and pressure. Ability to enter data with accuracy and speed is essential. B.A. or B.S. and/or Construction experience is preferred.


Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Prior experience in dispatching or a related field is preferred.
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to adapt to new software and tools quickly.


SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

MENTAL DEMANDS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence. Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts. Ability to apply elementary mathematical operations to tasks. Ability to identify problems.
