Responsibilities:
MV Transportation is seeking a safety-oriented candidate who will serve as a Dispatcher who works to direct the day-to-day route operations and reports to the Operations Manager. This work is done in compliance with the procedures defined by the client and in conformance with company procedures. His/her duties involve daily communication and interaction with drivers and clients. He/she must also organize and conduct activities to assure safe, cost-effective, on-time operating performance. Tracks and reports sign-in/sign-out times, assures routes are timely, and communicates service issues to the Operations Manager as appropriate.?
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the promotion and execution of our safety program under the supervision of the Safety Manager.
- Greets visitors, employees and applicants and ensures the safety and security of the front office by being attentive to restricted areas.
- Takes client calls and communicates issues with drivers and Operations Manager as appropriate.
- Monitors radio, telephones and on-road provision of service for quality.
- Responsible for influencing positive employee morale and quality customer service.
- Monitors and completes driver sign-in and sign-out daily.
- Monitors daily system performance consistently while performing other essential duties.
- Participates in analysis and review of operating performance.
- Notes closed and/or late starting of routes and communicates same to Operations Manager as appropriate.
- Maintaining a clean work space is a must.
- Complete required operational reports on time and report them to the Operations Manger and others as designated.
- Document all reports and file and/or forward to appropriate people for resolution.
- Scheduling of drivers on next business days route in accordance of contract requirements and system needs.
- Generate daily report summarizing job duties performed including staff reports in regard to safety issues/concerns, operational misfortune and drivers needs/request in efforts to improve work environment
- All other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
Talent Requirements:
- One (1) year previous Dispatcher experience preferred.?
- Two (2) years of Customer Service experience is preferred.
- Must be able to work shifts on all hours of operation on all days of the year we are open.
- Ability to be flexible in working hours to cover the needs of the business due to call out or vacations.
- Ability to communicate clearly, effectively and efficiently with Management, staff, client and with the public.
- Extensive geographic knowledge of Kootenia County
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Intermediate or expert knowledge in Microsoft Office including excel, word, outlook, PowerPoint, ect.
- Experience with ParaPlan software, or ability to learn software proficient.
- Must be able to execute assignments in full from supervisors/managers.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain composure under stress/high pressure in a fast pace environment.
- Must be receptive to positive on-going training/coaching to improve safety and operational performance.
- Must be of strong moral character, people oriented, attentive, maintain a bright positive demeanor (even under high pressure/ stressful situations) to mee our mission in providing the best customer experience to our drivers, passengers and client.
- Able to demonstrate professional phone manner.
