Employment Opportunity

Hilliard Station Park has become the home of many fun community events over the summer months. The City is looking for team members to join the Hilliard Station/ First Responders Park Crew that would help with the upkeep of this space, and assist with special events and rentals. These positions would start in May and work through the summer months.

Under general supervision of the Aquatics Recreation Supervisor and Aquatics Recreation Coordinator, this position is responsible for the operation and upkeep of Hilliard's Station Park (HSP) and First Responders Park (FRP). Individuals also assist with special events and rentals at the facilities.
Essential Functions of Work

Oversee the daily operation of Hilliard Station Park and First Responders Park.

Maintain daily chemicals, filtration systems, and pumps.

Adhere to applicable health and safety standards as set forth by state and local regulations and ensure posting of rules.

Maintain cleanliness of the assigned facility, including the buildings, public spaces, walkways, trash, and restrooms.

Maintain safe water conditions in conjunction with Health Department regulations, including checking, recording, and interpreting chlorine residual, PH, alkalinity, and related testing of water.

Process and receive payments in the form of both cash and credit.

Interact with the public and respond to customer inquiries. Research and resolve issues, as necessary.

Assist with departmental special events.

Perform other related duties as assigned by the Recreation Coordinators, Recreation Supervisors, Recreation Program Managers, Deputy Director of Recreation and Parks, or the Director of Recreation and Parks or their designee.

Ability to compile and prepare reports and maintain accurate records.

Ability to answer inquiries, resolve complaints, and communicate with the public in an effective, tactful, courteous, and professional manner.

Compliance with training directives established by supervisory and management personnel.

Adherence to all applicable federal, state and local safety laws, rules and regulations and City policies/procedures.

Ability to implement Emergency Action Plans and emergency response plans.

Typical Qualifications

Possession of a valid State of Ohio driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Possession of or ability to obtain American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional.

Rescuer and First Aid certifications.

A background free of felony convictions.

Regular and punctual attendance is regarded as an essential requirement of this position.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and some holidays.

Posses of a high school diploma is preferred.
Supplemental Information

Physical Requirements
This work requires the exertion of up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Must be physically capable of sitting, standing, reaching, twisting, bending, walking, lifting and kneeling, grasping, and repetitive motions to perform the essential job functions.

Full-Time Employees (Non-Union)

HEALTH BENEFITS
Employees are eligible to enroll in health insurance, vision, and dental benefits. Benefits start the 1st day of the month following the employee's start date.

LIFE INSURANCE
The City pays 100% of the premium on a $100,000 life insurance policy for employees.

RETIREMENT PENSION
The City contributes 14% monthly toward retirement benefits offered through the Ohio Retirement System (OPERS) and the employee contributes 10%.

VACATION
Employees accrue two weeks of vacation in their first year of employment. The City recognizes prior Ohio public service to establish vacation accruals.

Vacation Accrual Rates
1 Year - 3.1 hours per pay period (80 hours per year)
5 Years- 4.6 hours per pay period (120 hours per year)
10 Years- 6.2 hours per pay period (160 hours per year)
15 Years- 7.7 hours per pay period (200 hours per year)

PERSONAL LEAVE
New Employees receive one personal day for every four months employed. These days are to be used within the calendar year.

HOLIDAYS
There are 12 holidays recognized by the City.

SICK LEAVE
Employees accrue 3.1 hours of sick leave per pay period for a total of 80 hours per year.
