Job Details

Seeking applicants for the Division of Arts and Humanities. This eleven-month, full-time position includes full benefits. The hours will be 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with selected special event attendance required during the year. This position will work primarily with the Humanities departments, as well as the Honors Program, Intellectual Foundations, and the international teaching assistants. The successful candidate will exhibit a strong work ethic, be willing to handle a wide range of tasks, possess strong communication and organization skills, have the ability to work well with people at all levels of the College, and be proficient in Microsoft Office, and google-based email and Drive functions.

Responsibilities and duties include:

  • Provide support for the Humanities departments, as well as the All-College Honors Program and Intellectual Foundations Program
  • Serve as a liaison for the international teaching assistants in the Target Language Expert (TLE) program, including coordinating onboarding and helping TLEs navigate campus supports and offices.
  • Perform daily clerical tasks, including routine correspondence, scheduling appointments, purchasing office supplies, and other duties as assigned.
  • Process budget items such as invoices, check requests, etc. and maintain accurate expense spread sheets for the division.
  • Supervise a small number of student workers, assigning tasks to assist faculty and departments
  • Provide support for special projects such as the Divisional Honor Celebration and the Visiting Writers series.
  • Coordinate searches, when needed, to fill faculty positions
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Divisional Dean
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required; additional experience in higher education preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with employees, students, student workers, faculty members, guests and the public.
  • The ability to use a personal computer and Web browser, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Google Systems, and ZOOM. Experience with Workday systems is beneficial.
  • Requires the ability to work collegially in a team-oriented environment.
