Foodservice Business Manager


Job Details

The Foodservice Business Manager role is to be the internal liaison for external sales and customers to cross functional partners. Strong focus on customer partnerships and internal operations. Collaborate with cross functional team members to deliver results with regards to overall service level and account profitability.

Business and Process Management

  • Identify and manage opportunities for improvement in P&L Management, Forecasting, and Supply Chain processes
  • Weekly margin management with critical callouts and action items identified to review and follow up with sales
  • Drive customer ideations through New Opportunity Request process including private label opportunities
  • Update and create departmental Standard Operating Procedures when process gaps are identified
  • Manage and communicate product initiatives and promotions to Supply Chain
  • Coordinate urgent and detailed QA responses to customer complaints
  • Demonstrate strong competency in utilizing all systems necessary to perform job expectations SAP, AFO, BI, GIB, Price FX, EPM, CRM, SharePoint, Manage Engine, Microsoft Office Suite, Customer specific portals
  • Identify opportunities that drive bottom line growth, and exceed KPI and report out


Planning, Analysis and Communication

  • Own customer/account profitability and volume targets against budgeted goals to exceed KPIs
  • Lead in the Price FX management process for each trade planned customer - Retail only
  • Develop, Review and validate forecast for customer's base and promotional volume to exceed KPI per family and/or private label
  • Coordinate with sales team and determine solutions to limit distressed products utilizing, but not limited to the PFT and PUSH list processes
  • Align with sales team on annual budgeting and reforecasting process
  • Manage customer specific accrual balances (ensure internal process is being followed and payouts are accurately managed)
  • Coordinate and manage cross functional communications for New Business Alert / New Item Launch process
  • Monitor private label inventory level and perform root cause analysis and corrective action if outside of targeted levels
  • Develop customer facing presentations for Sales Meetings and Business Reviews
  • Prepare monthly shipment data reports for customer's review
  • Provide data to support sales team and direct customers
  • Communicate with Customer Service team to ensure order fill and delivery accuracy
  • Coordinate with Marketing Team on customer specific opportunities
  • Analyze and provide insight to customer specific data (cook book, IRI, etc.), communicate findings that drive action steps
  • Coordinate with Business Development team to develop and implement trade strategies on a quarterly basis


Reporting and Admin

  • Develop and collaborate with BD /AE customer specific one page plans and communicate results quarterly to organization
  • Monitor and track performance on Marketing Programs and customer contracts
  • Pricing implementation and management: Review and approve deductions and trade spend requests for accuracy and resolution to exceed KPIs
  • New customer setup, pricing setup, check requests, customer system requirements, EDICRM Compliance and tracking
  • Schedule monthly progress review with Executive Business Director/ Account Executive/ BD to ensure complete alignment on activity and workflows
  • Coordinate samples requests
  • Coordinate and follow up on complaint process
  • Prepare and submit check requests and claims within 10 days from notification utilizing CRM
  • Execute quarterly review and scrub of customer specific date specifications
  • Execute quarterly review of customer playbooks for accurate information and update as necessary
  • Review and action item follow up for monthly price overrides
  • Manage customer and item specific allocations
  • Schedule and maintain routine meeting with SR Business manager to include coaching session and monthly KPI reviews
  • Create and own yearly Individual Development Plan (IDP)


Team CFG

  • Attend cross functional meetings as needed
  • Attend product cuttings as needed
  • Participate in organizational development meetings as needed
