SUMMARY: The Memory Care Program Director provides individualized, quality resident care under
the direction of the Executive Director by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: An individual must be able to perform each essential duty

required. Other duties as assigned.
1. Provide daily direct care to residents, which includes but is not limited to: developing resident's daily, weekly
and monthly schedules, manages or participants in resident's activities including the development of an activity
program. May also assist with escorting residents to meals, responding to emergencies and call bells in a timely
manner. Manages the function of timely charting, documentation and record keeping as well as assisting with
the admission process with family, staff and the resident.
2. Observe and redirect staff daily practices through one on one education of memory care diseases,
interpretation of program policy and procedures, and provide teaching as needed. Lead and assist in the
survey process.
3. Assists with administrative functions and maintains proper documentation as directed. This includes, but is
not limited to: creating staff calendars, memos, daily assignment sheets, resident files, conducting facility tours,
census growth and supporting the Director, as needed. Interact with residents, family members, legal
representatives and surrogates to answer questions or resolve concerns. Makes prompt attempts to resolve all
resident grievances, seeking consultation or assistance from other departments or administration as needed.
4. Provides regular dementia specific in-service to Memory Care, facility staff and develop a support program
for family members. Develop and maintain a Family Resource Center on-site. Maintains policies, procedures
and compliance of policies and procedures.
5. As directed, assists with updating and implementing policies and procedures to reflect the philosophy of the
facility, professional standards, and legal requirements. Provides performance evaluations for Memory Care
staff, as well as coaching, mentoring and disciplinary actions for Memory Care staff.
6. Maintains and updates current skills and knowledge through continuing education and in-service programs.
7. Assists with marketing efforts to include making marketing calls, public speaking and outreach efforts to
grow census.
8. Carries out responsibilities in compliance with federal, state, local laws and regulations, and with company
philosophy, policies and procedures.
9. Must speak, understand and read the English language to the extent necessary to safely and properly care
for residents.
10. Excellent interpersonal skills with positive attitude and a high level of energy and enthusiasm. Ability to
organize, document, and implement detailed programs. Good verbal and written communication skills. Exhibit
and maintain our mission, vision and service standards.
11. This position requires standing, sitting, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds or more, bending,
climbing, twisting upper body, walking, running, carrying, listening, talking, use of telephone, and exposure to
medical equipment and persons with risk of illness.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Must be Registered Nurse, RN

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Driver s license per position requirements.
