We are seeking a talented and dedicated individual to join our team as an Editor/Reporter at our community newspaper, covering the Granville, NY & Lakes Region of Vermont communities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for journalism and storytelling, strong writing and editing skills, and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Research, write, and edit news articles, feature stories, and other content for print and online publication
- Cover local events, meetings, and community news
- Conduct interviews with community members, officials, and other sources
- Assist with layout and design of newspaper pages
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely and accurate publication of content
- Stay up-to-date on local news and trends
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or related field
- Previous experience in journalism or a related field
- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of AP style and journalistic ethics
- Familiarity with layout and design software a plus
