We are excited to collaborate with a leading CDMO in the pharmaceutical industry, distinguished for its commitment to advancing healthcare through groundbreaking research and development. Our client is a globally respected organization focused on improving patient outcomes through innovation. They are seeking a dynamic leader to oversee their R&D division remotely from Boston, MA.


Director of R&D - Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement R&D strategies that align with the company s objectives and comply with regulatory standards
  • Manage the entire innovation pipeline, from initial research stages to clinical development and regulatory approval
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team of scientists, researchers, and project managers, fostering a culture of teamwork and excellence
  • Ensure meticulous planning, execution, and management of R&D projects, meeting deadlines, budget limits, and quality benchmarks
  • Uphold compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards across all R&D activities
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including cross-functional teams, regulatory authorities, and industry experts
  • Develop and oversee the R&D budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation to maximize innovation and productivity
  • Regularly update senior management on the progress and outcomes of R&D initiatives and projects


Director of R&D - Requirements:

  • PhD or equivalent degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., pharmacology, biochemistry, molecular biology)
  • At least 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical R&D, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity
  • Proven track record of successfully leading R&D projects from inception to market launch
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards within the pharmaceutical sector
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a remote setting and manage a distributed team
  • Proficiency in English; proficiency in a local language is a plus
