Position Description:
Ojo Santa Fe Spa and Resort is seeking a dedicated and skilled Level 1 Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to join our team. As a Level 1 Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the proper operation and maintenance of our wastewater treatment facilities, contributing to the protection of public health and the environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and Maintain Wastewater Treatment Equipment: Monitor and operate wastewater treatment equipment including pumps, motors, valves, filters, and chemical feed systems to ensure efficient and compliant operation.
- Perform Routine Inspections: Conduct routine inspections of wastewater treatment processes, equipment, and facilities to identify and address any abnormalities or issues promptly.
- Sampling and Testing: Collect wastewater samples at various stages of the treatment process and perform basic laboratory tests to assess water quality and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs: Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform minor repairs and adjustments as needed to ensure continuous operation of the treatment plant.
- Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of plant operations, equipment maintenance, and regulatory compliance activities. Prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies as required.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing wastewater treatment operations.
- Assist with Facility Upgrades and Improvements: Assist in the implementation of upgrades and improvements to the wastewater treatment facility, including equipment upgrades, process modifications, and infrastructure enhancements.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or Level 1 Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certification preferred.
- Previous experience in wastewater treatment operations or a related field is desirable.
- Working knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, equipment, and regulations.
- Ability to operate and maintain pumps, motors, valves, and other mechanical equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Basic understanding of laboratory testing procedures and water chemistry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to walk or stand and move about the resort (both indoors and outdoors) for eight or more hours per day, sit, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb stairs, push and pull items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Physical Requirements:- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and materials (up to 50 pounds).
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and navigate uneven terrain.
