DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Follows Infection Control guidelines for patients care
- Maintains an environment that is clean, safe and secure
- Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function in stressful situations
- Regularly collaborates with other members of the perioperative team in order to maintain equipment, supplies and flow during surgical procedures
- Communicates appropriately and clearly to director, staff and physicians
- Use facility resources appropriately and avoids wasteful practices
- Perform according to established compliance policies and procedures
- Maintains patient confidentiality
- Cooperative work attitude toward co-employees, management, patients, visitors, and physicians
- Ability to make decisions and solve basic problems
- Accuracy and Attention to detail
- Little supervision needed to accomplish tasks
- Prepares room in a timely manner with all anticipated instruments, supplies and equipment for each individual surgical procedure.
- Cleans and prepares rooms between procedures and after last case; restocks supplies, when necessary
- Consults with other staff members when in question or unfamiliar with equipment or procedure.
- Handle equipment and instruments to provide appropriate availability and safety
- Respond in a timely manner to meet the needs of the staff
- Professional Requirements:
- Meets dress code standards; appearance is neat and clean
- Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated time
- Attend annual review and in-services, as scheduled.
- Participate in Emergency Drills
- Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices
- Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner
