Principal Responsibilities

  1. Project Management: Ensure timely completion of all projects. Track project status through regular meetings. Effectively oversee obstacles in order to maintain project progress.
  2. RBC-API Supplier Development: Work with Purchasing on improving the capability and stability of RBC-API's Supply base. Utilize the PFMEA process to improve the effectiveness of Receiving Inspection. Suggest and implement improvements to our Supplier surveillance/auditing process. Improvements should include flow down of our quality management system requirements and our customer's requirements.
  3. Researches causes of scrap and rework and recommends and implements programs for elimination of causes of substandard product quality.
  4. Develops, implements and maintains cause and corrective action data.
  5. Identified and reports quality problems or trends; generates defect-reduction activities.
  6. Meets with vendors, customers and company personnel to discuss and resolve quality problems as required.
  7. Direct all those involved in the review of quality and the inspection of items manufactured against orders or contracts.
  8. Capable of reading and understanding complex drawings.
  9. Ability to use a variety of complex inspection gages and equipment.
  10. Performs visual and dimensional inspection of various mechanical components and assemblies to close tolerances in support of subordinates.
  11. Leads Non Conformance SWAT team on dispositions.
  12. Familiarity with Quality System(s) - ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.
  13. Has understanding of customer specifications.
  14. Oversees and reviews Article Inspection Reports and other relevant quality reports.
  15. Maintains records, data and logs as required.
  16. Investigates and analyzes Quality issues and brings departments together to resolve problems. Provides written documentation and reports (i.e. 8D reports).
  17. Follows work procedures.
  18. Provides support to achieve short-term and long-term department / company goals.
  19. Provides leadership/training as needed.
  20. Ensures that production schedules and customer requirements are met.
  21. Maintains clean and safe work environment. Follows safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Reports safety incidents to supervisor.
  22. Makes recommendations for improvements to work processes and procedures. Contributes to 6 S programs in work area.
  23. Provides a high level of service to all internal and external customers. Contributes to positive teamwork environment.
  24. Performs other duties as assigned. Participates in training/learning other positions. Accomplishes related results as needed.
