The "Fine Print" - What You'll Do
  • Oversee Procurement Operations: Procurement process owner responsible for managing purchase order compliance, system workflows, data, integrations, and reporting delivering efficient procurement processes.
  • Supplier Management: Build and manage relationships with external suppliers to guarantee high-quality, reliable, efficient, and uninterrupted material and service supply for Arcellx's expanding operations.
  • Purchase Order Management: Execute all aspects of PO creation, review, processing, ensuring proper account coding, issuance, tracking, transfers, returns, and replacements precisely and promptly to support business needs and maintain inventory of supplies including office, lab supplies and services.
  • Strategic Procurement & Insights: Generate in-depth reports providing insight on supplier performance and material category spend to develop and optimize procurement strategies, achieving cost savings, operational efficiencies, and improved supply management.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with key managers to comprehend their requirements and facilitate process improvements. Provide strategic solutions and support strategic decision-making related to procurement.
  • Contract & Sourcing: Assist in sourcing, negotiation, and contract execution across the organization. Champion strategic sourcing initiatives to ensure efficient procurement and inventory control of materials, equipment, and services while optimizing terms, lowering costs, guaranteeing quality, and minimizing risks.
  • Policy & Training Development: Develop and maintain up-to-date policies, processes, procedures, and training materials for the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and where applicable Source-to-Deliver (S2D).

Skills and Experience We Look For
  • 3+ years' relevant experience in pharma/biotech purchasing and/or sourcing.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute at a high-level on the main tasks of the role, including vendor management and negotiation, using an ERP system (NetSuite is a plus), inventory controls and material movement, etc.
  • Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a lab setting/environment and handle materials up to 50lbs.
