Position Summary:
The Deli Clerk at Uwajimaya prioritizes excellent customer service by providing unparalleled interaction, product knowledge, and assistance in food preparation.
Position's Key Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Greet customers warmly, assist with inquiries, and offer recommendations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing deli department.
- Ensure adherence to health department and company policies to maintain a safe environment for both dining and workplace activities.
- Take and fulfill customer orders while adhering to portion control guidelines.
- Monitor and communicate low or attention-needed product levels to cooks.
- Ensure accurate wrapping, labeling, pricing, logging, and dating of products; remove expired items.
- Prepare and package deli food condiments for cold and hot cases.
- Operate the cash register following Cashier Guidelines & Procedures, maintaining stocked supplies.
- Continuously enhance product knowledge to improve customer service and satisfaction.
- Other duties as assigned.
Starting at $20.29/hr., Depending on Experience.
QualificationsPosition Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior retail experience and knowledge of Asian products, preferred.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Basic math proficiency, familiarity with ten-key/calculator, and comfortable using computers.
- Flexible schedule to accommodate varying shifts.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and proactively work independently.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
