Position Summary

The overall objective of this position is to provide service to students, faculty and staff members in all matters relative to instruments, equipment and materials used to provide patient care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

(1) Distribute sterilized instruments and equipment and necessary materials and supplies to students, staff members and faculty utilizing the computerized tracking system.

(2) Receive instruments and materials from providers utilizing the computerized tracking system.

(3) Inspect cassettes to assure all items are present, replace as necessary. Prepare, sterilize, and stock cassettes ready for distribution.

(4) Maintain and sterilize handpieces and other equipment.

(5) Assist in stocking all materials and supplies and preparing procedure kits for distribution.

(6) Assist in accepting and packaging lab cases utilizing the computerized tracking system.

(7) Performing other duties as requested, at any location.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years service oriented work experience in a fast paced work environment.
  • Competent keyboarding skills and basic experience using a PC.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong knowledge of dental instruments and materials. Thouough knowledge of instrument sterlization procedures and equipment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must have strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work well within a team and independantly. Competent at handling many tasks efficiently. Must be professional, cheerful, courteous, and pleasant.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 20 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to move around the work area freely.

Work Environment

  • Working with dental instruments which are sharp and must be handleded cautiously. Using machines designed to disinfect and sterilize dental insturments. The machines use water and heat.
  • The employees in this area provide service and supplies to a large variety of individuals.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Must have current CPR or obtainable within 30 days of hire.
  • HIPAA and OSHA certificates obtainable within 30 days of hire.

Salary/Pay Information

Commensurate with experience

Anticipated Schedule

Monday - Friday 40 hours per week; hours vary; some weekends
