We currently have an opportunity for a Main Line Excavator Operator to join one of our pipe crews.

Key Functions

  • Safely and efficiently excavate line and grade for mainline utility crew according to project plans
  • Excavate around existing utilities efficiently and safely
  • Knowledge of trench depth, shoring, rigging and grade compaction
  • Perform routine inspections on equipment and report any defects
  • Safely perform labor functions and operate other construction equipment when needed
  • Strict adherence to complying with safety policies and procedure
Qualifications
  • Minimum of two (2) years of previous mainline experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of excavation, trenching and shoring practices
  • OSHA certified competent person training preferred

  • Possess a deep analytical understanding and problem-solving skills
  • Devoted in following code of ethics
  • Good relationship building ability
  • Must be able to work various shifts, days and overtime as needed
  • Must be able to work out of town
Physical Requirements
  • Capable of lifting 25 to 50 lbs. regularly
  • Move safely, quickly, and perform duties with repetitious movement
  • Sit and/or stand for long periods of time
  • Reach with hands and arms
  • Bend at the waist, kneel, stoop, squat, twist, push and pull
  • Climb ladders/steps
  • Continuous use of hands and fine manipulation
  • Walk varying distances and on uneven ground at times
  • Must be able to tolerate all weather elements, loud conditions, and vibrations
Compensation
  • Competitive hourly rate of pay based on experience, prevailing wage will apply to some projects

    • Year 1 - Employer covers 80% of total (family) premiums
    • Years 2 & 3 - Employer covers 90% of total (family) premiums
    • Years 4 or more - Employer covers 100% of total (family) premiums
