The mission of the Title clerk is to ensure that all sales customers' tag and title paperwork is processed in a timely manner and to provide assistance to the sales force on tag and title matters.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepares tax and title documents and submits to state authorities
  • Verifies payoffs on trades, and send payoffs/collects titles
  • Compiles and maintains a complete list of title work still pending. Uses excel to maintain and update the list daily, including missing items needed to complete all deals
  • Processes yearly renewal of dealer tags in for his/her stores
  • Process titles for auctions sales, and then post receipt checks
  • Assists the sales and finance departments in making sure paperwork runs smoothly
  • Handle customer and dealership inquiries regarding tag and title issues
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Understands all title guidelines, and keeps knowledge level current and up to date on state requirements
  • Other assigned tasks and duties
Position Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Previous experience with dealership tag & title is a requirement
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal
  • Computer literate and must be able to learn DMS systems
  • Strong customer service skills are a must.
  • This is a fast-paced work environment, so applicants must be able to multitask quickly while maintaining a friendly and welcoming attitude.
  • Applicants must also be extremely organized as task list may be numerous
  • Applicant must have a professional appearance, voice, and confidence.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR LICENSURES:

Either is a notary, or can pass the notary requirement forthwith.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk; climb or balance; kneel; crouch or crawl. Must be able to lift and/or move 20 lbs. This includes repetitive hand motions and use of keyboards, telephones and general office equipment. Must be able to work under general office conditions with air conditioning and lighting.
