A nonprofit health services organization in New York City is currently seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join one of their Day Programs & Clinics in Brooklyn. In this role, the Registered Nurse (RN) will be responsible for providing evaluation, diagnosis and therapeutic intervention and monitoring treatment plan and progress.
Responsibilities:
The Registered Nurse (RN) will:
- Arrange medical services for persons served and issues medical referrals as needed
- Provide follow-up on medical problems for persons served
- Conduct training for staff in medical administration, personal hygiene, basic first aid, dental hygiene, infection control, etc.
- Handle control of communicable diseases and infections through identification and assessment
- Monitor required staff health records and provides tests in accordance with regulatory agency requirements
- Provide immediate first aid with referral to outside emergency services or private physician
- Participate in routine individual case reviews.
- Prepare and maintain medical documentation on each person served
- Administer medications and supervise certified staff in administration
- Provide first aid and attends to emergency needs of persons served
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- NYS Registered Nurse (RN)
- CPR certification
- Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills
- Patient oriented
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
Desired Skills:
- 1+ year of Nursing experience with the delivery of Community-based Health Services to individuals with Developmental Disabilities
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
