Job Description

A Solution Architect is an Expert-level engineer, within two or more engineering domains (e.g., Enterprise Software Development, Software Testing and Quality, Cloud Computing, DevOps), that is responsible for owning the design and driving the details of the end-to-end architecture used to solve a clients business problem



A Solution Architect collaborates with other key delivery roles (i.e., Product Owners, Technical Leads, Software Engineers) to manage scope, translate difficult technical solutions into business terminology and vice versa, and provide client expectation management, risk identification and management


While not producing deliverables all day, every day the role leads and mentors while contributing to the teams deliverables where appropriate.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee ongoing technical product roadmaps, according to business strategies and enterprise architecture.
  • Coach, mentor, and collaborate with technical subject matter experts and Enterprise Architect peers on the technology patterns to best deliver consistency and quality across the organization.
  • Develop Proof of Concepts (POCs) to quickly demonstrate feasibility of the product idea and realize it as a viable solution.
  • Responsible for generating architecture documents, logical flows, and models to keep the team informed on the architecture of the platform.
  • Lead the modernization efforts of legacy applications by conducting in-depth analysis and assessment of existing systems
  • Design for functional and non-functional qualities, including availability, resiliency, security, privacy, observability etc.
  • Embrace platform thinking and promote the reuse of capabilities and components.
  • In collaboration with Enterprise Architects, lead the analysis of technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on the enterprise.
  • Mentor team members in software development and architectural principles, patterns, processes, and practices.
  • Serve as a technical and business-savvy resource to software development engineering personnel on a range of software design issues.
  • Ensure customers and end-users are your top priority



Skills & Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field required; advanced degree preferred 6+ years of experience with systems architecture
  • Full stack knowledge of modern hybrid infrastructure, data, and application technology platforms
  • Experience with containerization technologies.
  • Experience designing event-driven systems.
  • Experience modernizing legacy systems.
  • Proven track record of delivering, building, and integrating custom built applications.
  • Experience building solutions for CRM applications is a plus.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problems solving skills.
  • Strong ability to collaborate to successfully execute new technology strategies and pat
