Description
The ideal candidate will provide employment counseling for both incarcerated and post inmates with re-integration back into the workforce as needed, to include job search and job readiness services.

Examples of Duties
Employment Counseling with inmates (to include mock interviewing) job readiness, matching skills to positions based on qualifications
Re-Entry Group facilitation with Re-Entry Counselor
Establishing relationships with community businesses developing those into potential employers
Tracking and follow up upon release (1 month, 6 months,1 year post release)
Connecting the inmate to training/education through Department of Labor if necessary
Interviews and counsels applicants
Record needed personal and vocation data and assists applicants in evaluating their vocation abilities and potential, interest, capabilities and relating them to realistic occupation objectives
Selects and refers applicants to training programs or work experience sites in conjunction with applicants employable plan and monitors the trainees progress
Refers the applicants to other community agencies for special services beyond the scope of the local office as required
Prepare clear, sound, accurate and informative histories and reports of counseling activities findings, conclusions and recommendations
Conducts follow up on placements
Typical Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree
Knowledge of principles and techniques of vocational guidance
Knowledge of individual differences in people and of personality development
Knowledge of group dynamics as applied to occupational development
