Job Summary

The Website Merchandiser manages the execution of website merchandising to achieve sales and marketing goals. Responsible for driving decisions that increase online conversion through analytics, content and on-site merchandising. Holds accountability to improve product presentation, navigation, cross-sells/product recommendations and identify other content-driven merchandising opportunities. Works closely with the Creative, Marketing and Technology teams to enhance and build the online assortment, product information, category information and website merchandising.

Essential Functions

Website Customer Experience Test, develop and improve the optimization of the online experience on www.JamesAvery.com and other public-facing sites to maximize sales growth, increase customer satisfaction and increase positive brand awareness for James Avery. Coordinate request, creation and deployment of assets from internal and external resources.

Website Management Manage the site to ensure merchandise assortment, product categorization and taxonomy maximizes sales and is effectively presented to the customer across all categories.

Website Development and QA Assist in website development and QA by identifying and assisting in the deployment of changes to the website. Participate in communication with online ecommerce platform provider, IT, creative department and other online partners as needed.

Onboarding New Products Partner with the technology department to ensure all products are loaded/removed on the site effectively and efficiently. Includes managing online product data so that other departments may leverage this information.

Online Vendors and Partnerships Utilize new platform functionality, various online merchandising tools and web development partners to provide a customer-friendly online experience. Manage vendors pertaining to the website and responsible for the budget for these vendors as well.

Homepage Optimization Partner with the marketing team to optimize the homepage of the website ensuring relevant products and campaign messages are featured. Optimize based on engagement with the content.

Landing Page Optimization In coordination with marketing team, provide optimized landing pages for digital marketing, catalog, email and social marketing links.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Work with digital agency and Digital Marketing Manager to assist in implementation of SEO strategy.

Other Marketing Campaigns Manage and/or participate in the coordination, execution and analysis of any marketing campaigns as it pertains to the website.

Key Performance Indicators Monitor and report on the key performance indicators specific to the website.

Creative Services Coordination Coordinate with creative team daily to ensure the timely and accurate execution of assigned marketing projects. Work directly with freelance or internal copywriters on coordinating copy needs.

Analysis Utilize Google Analytics and all James Avery marketing and sales reporting tools, to prepare reports and analyze data as required focusing on website and ecommerce performance. Proactively make suggestions for areas of improvement in processes or marketing campaigns.

Competitive Landscape Monitor online competitive landscape and industry trends.

Manage eCatalogs and review marketing materials to ensure they align with the website goals.

Support as needed, company-wide marketing efforts to include Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS), new store and store relocations, new line initiatives like handbags, etc.

Maintain store location data and new store/closure messaging for jamesavery.com.

Manage all shipping deadline and product care communications on the site.

Partner with Website Analyst and UX/UI Manager in executing A/B tests to improve online conversion and customer experience.

Collaborates with the Digital Marketing and Brand teams to drive channel effectiveness.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of education/experience.

Three years experience in ecommerce website optimization or merchandising role.

Experience with managing content through ecommerce platform tools.

Experience with website analytics.

Strong Excel skills at an intermediate level including spreadsheet design, data sorting, basic formulas.

Basic HTML coding skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in marketing or merchandising.

Experience in ecommerce website optimization or merchandising role in a multi-channel retailer environment.

Experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud web platform.

Knowledge of Google Analytics.

Excel experience with pivot tables and advanced functions (if/then formulas).

Experience with website tools such as Monetate, Adobe Scene 7.
