Kitchen Assistants are responsible for: Properly cleans and sanitizes dishes, glassware, utensils, pots and pans, and food preparation and serving areas. Operates and sanitizes dishwashers, juice machines, coffee makers, and other kitchen equipment and notifies supervisor of equipment repairs.
Maintains the cleanliness of the kitchen and dining areas, assists with food preparation, and performs other related kitchen duties as needed. Under supervision washes and prepares food for cooking in accordance with sanitation requirements. Serves food from the steam tables to clients according to prescribed measures, and ensures proper portion control. Wraps, labels, dates and refrigerates leftovers after each meal according to established procedures or instructions Performs other related kitchen duties, such as inventorying and stocking food products and supplies, sorting and removing trash, sweeping, mopping and scrubbing floors and so forth Other duties as assigned Job Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent.
Current Food Handlers or Protection Manger Certificate 3 to 6 months of experience, demonstrated knowledge of basic dishwasher operations at a level normally acquired through on-the-job training or experience. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift objects weighing up to 30 pounds regularly, and up to 60 pounds frequently. Ability to stand stationary up to four hours at a time regularly, and up to seven hours frequently. Ability to walk or move about for more than six hours at a time.
Ability to stoop, bend, reach and grab. Normal or corrected vision necessary to read measurements of cleaning detergents, equipment cleaning instructions, and measure or portion food items.
