Job Description Customer Service Specialist I (010349) - ( #######Z ) * Knowledge of general office policies, procedures and practices.

* Knowledge of the court system, legal terminology, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to perform a variety of complex administrative duties.

* Knowledge of counterfeit bill detection procedures or ability to identify potential problems such as counterfeit currency.

* Ability to work under pressure with specific timelines and mandated state and/or agency standard.

* Learns and gains proficiency with and adheres to statutes, rules, Administrative Orders, and requirements.

* Participates in division cross training initiatives to acquire knowledge and skill sets to support efficient functioning of the assigned division work.

* May attend court proceedings, records minutes, process court exhibits/evidence, administers oaths to jurors and witnesses, processes related exhibits/evidence, publishes verdicts, prepares and distribute orders, and performs other duties as require for adherence to court procedures.

* Has the education needed or more for this position.

* Has the clerical experience needed or more for this position.

* Has a board knowledge of criminal and/or civil courts system and the Clerk's office functions. Has the experience in the processing, examining, preparing or reviewing of any type of legal documents.

* Working knowledge of Odyssey, CCIS, and MyFlorida. Proficient with various computer systems, inputting and retrieving data, software programs and office equipment.

* Experienced cashier with the ability to process Clerk's transactions; taking payments, issuing receipts and maintaining cash drawer. Familiar with processing various payment types, e.g., cash, checks, credit cards, and money orders/cashier checks. Able to open, close and balance tills.

* Comfortable with conducting court tasks in person, via phone and with using ZOOM audio/video service. Be able to maintain professional composure in a courtroom setting at all times and maintain proper courtroom etiquette.

* Capable of maintaining an appropriate demeanor, remain impartial and not be effected by information, testimony or graphic evidence during court sessions.

* Ability to effectively communicate orally, in writing and has good listening skills. Possesses high quality customer service skills and able to provide service to customers of all types, e.g., judges, judicial assistants, attorneys, law enforcement, members of the public, elected officials, other government agencies and other Clerk's office departments in a professional manner.

* Be able to work prior to 8:00 a.m. and after 5:00 p.m. to attend court proceedings or assist front counter customers. Be able to adjust work schedules due to the needs of the office. Be able to maintain an overall good attendance record.

* Familiar with legal terminology; has an understanding of terms commonly used in courts. Familiar with some Florida laws, statutes, and Rules of Court Procedures.

* Ability to verify data on cases, perform accurate computations, e.g., any monies owed on cases and the due dates. Able to articulate the information to customers.

* Ability to sit for long periods of time and write concise court notes, keep minutes of proceedings for extended periods of time.

* Has strong administrative abilities with good work habits. Be able to manage paperwork, maintain court's calendars and PREPARE dockets FOR COURT, ATTEND COURT PROCEEDINGS, RECALL WARRANTS, SAFEGUARD EVIDENCE, and PROCESS DOCKETS AFTER COURT WITH MINIMAL ERRORS.

* Demonstrates strong ethics, integrity, and accountability. Be self-motivated. Be able to maintain confidential information.

* Ability to use initiative and able to trouble-shoot. Be able to make sound, practical and timely work decisions.

* Be able to cross-train in various courtrooms and train on various tasks in the office. Has the ability to follow directions, rules, strict procedures and policies.

* Be a team player, dependable, flexible and has good interpersonal skills with all employees within the work area/department and organization.

* Able to provide accurate information regarding different options to customers, explain costs to customers for Traffic court procedures, FILE NEW CASE FILINGS, clear driver licenses and process license reinstatement fees, accept pleadings, schedule court dates, explain case dispositions, and provide customers with copies of documents from cases.

* Detail-oriented, organized and meet deadlines. Demonstrates the ability to prioritize and be adept at multi-tasking.

* Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Has the ability to learn the job and perform the job consistently and successfully.

* Be a mature, responsible worker that is committed to representing themselves and the Clerk's Office is a positive manner in demeanor and dress.
