**Warehouse Inventory Control Clerk**

**Summary** : The Inventory Clerk maintains an accurate perpetual inventory by conducting cycle counts; maintain accuracy of information pertaining to all product lines; and identify, research and remedy inaccuracies to preserve data integrity. The employee must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and maintain the expected work pace and meet minimum productivity guidelines set by DPI. The Inventory Clerk works in dry, refrigerated and freezer areas of a warehouse and may be exposed to one environment for long periods of time.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

* Perform scheduled cycle counts by reviewing documentation and verifying against perpetual stock in inventory.

* Generate reports and documentation to research failure activity (e.g., missing stock, unscheduled product moves, non-executed scheduled produce moves and more).

* Update inventory based on results of failure research by entering data into Oracle (or AS-400 where applicable) following appropriate DPI policies and procedures.

* Generate follow-up reports to verify accuracy of adjustments.

* Participate in all scheduled audits by counting, researching, adjusting and generating reports.

* Verify item set-up and integrity in dimensions, code dating and UPCs.

* Analyze inventory imbalances through research and physical checks to improve inventory integrity.

* Evaluate HCM set-up and slotting to best assist all areas of DPI operation to include but not limited to Receiving, Warehousing and Shipping.

* Communicate and address concerns and issues from other departments to include but not limited to Purchasing, Sales and Customers (internal and external) to reduce inefficiencies and product damage.

* Identify process improvement and opportunities for change

**Other Duties and Responsibilities**:

* Maintain clean work environment, may pick up trash or clean minor spills.

* May return product to stock (RTS).

* Other duties may be assigned to fulfill DPIs objectives.

- **Skills & Abilities** : A high school diploma or equivalent is required. One year of previous inventory control or related experience is preferred. The employee must be proficient in English and possess math skills proficient to calculate pallet quantities. Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required. Oracle (or AS400) experience is preferred; if none must become proficient within six months on the job. Experience as a certified powered industrial truck (PIT) operator is preferred; if none, must be able to pass certification within 90 days on the job. Employee must be able to be certi fied for PIT operation by DPI.

**Work Environment** : The work environment is indoors and the employee may be exposed to cold room or freezer temperatures. There is moderate noise level in warehouse environments with occasional to frequent honking of power jacks and forklifts for safety. The floors may be concrete.

**Work Hours**: The work schedule is either 5 days a week, 8 hours a day, or 4 days a week, 10 hours a day. Start times vary. Work hours and shifts are subject to change depending on operating business conditions and needs. The employee may be required to work overtime, holidays or weekends.

**Physical and Mental Demands**: Medium, exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force seldom, up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or greater than negligible up to 10pounds of force constantly to move objects. This job also requires frequent standing and walking. Know and apply proper safety and temperature sensitive protocols when staging, transporting goods, follow DPI grooming, hygiene and dress code, including appropriate personal protection equipment (PPE) for safety compliance. Follow sequencing or order directions and apply knowledge of spatial relations product storage. Know and apply protocols for proper paperwork and documentation delivery.
